I just got back from our summer vacation which we spent traveling around the northeast. Initially, we had warm days and mild nights, but towards the end we noticed cooler days and a distinct chill in the air at night.
For me this is both bad and good news.
The bad news is that it signals summer is fading fast and I just love the shorts and t-shirt weather, and hate to see it go. The good news is that the New England fall foliage season is close at hand, and its one of my favorite times of the year.
Whether it’s taking a scenic drive, or hiking up a mountain for a panoramic countryside view, I look forward to the amazing color display in this region during autumn.
Fall is a great time in New England to be outdoors with the crisp air, and enjoying a fall festival, picking apples, taking a train ride, or just walking through a blazing forest of red-leaf maples.
I have so many favorite places to visit and things to do that I wanted to find a way of sharing them with everybody. So a few months ago I started to put together a free resource for both New Englanders and out-of-state visitors alike who also want to enjoy a New England fall foliage trip.
Everything you need to plan a fall foliage visit to New England is contained on one page.
You’ll discover the best time to visit for peak foliage, the best locations for leaf peeping, my ten favorite things to do in the fall, foliage movies, where to stay, photo taking tips, and a whole bunch of additional resources to help make your trip the most dazzling fall foliage trek you’ve ever taken.
You can find my free New England fall foliage resource by clicking here.
Enjoy the show.

NICE BLOG
My husband and I are planning a 4 day trip to see the fall foliage October 12-15. I've narrowed it down to New Hampshire, but I'm unsure what city to stay in. Any suggestions?
This will be our first trip to New England. We're from Alabama.
Thanks!!
Hi,
In New Hampshire I'd consider two locations as a base for fall foliage views. One of the towns around Lake Winnipesaukee such as Meredith or Wolfeboro, and in the White Mountains look towards North Conway or Jefferson.
These offer plenty of varied lodging to suit all tastes and budgets.
